introduction

My name is Sara and I am a Personal Trainer and Reformer Pilates Specialist. After 8 years at the Sporting Club of Sydney, Allianz Stadium, I now have a cool new space in Alexandria where I will be based for clients.

I have extensive studio training in mat and reformer Pilates and 9 years experience in sharing my passion working within core strength and stabilisation, spinal articulation and postural strength and alignment.

My client testimonials and feedback show a significant increase in physical endurance, core strength, rehabilitation and overall sports performance. My coaching style is a method I originally designed to ease stress in higher calibre clients, allowing the mental capacity to connect internally with themselves to become body aware.

It is paramount to be body aware and well connected for all movement during exercise with the breath for a deeper connection in this holistic approach.. and the difference is astounding!

Strength & Cross training pilates; the athlete edition

There is an abundance in numbers of elite athletes and fitness enthusiasts that are cross training Pilates, and for good reason!

My breathing techniques and a more holistic drive to performance into athletes programming means greater gains when it comes to overall sports performance.

We all know Pilates is great for core strength, flexibility and mobility, however I have personally seen much more than this combining the above methods. Many athletes who I train have seen:

  • More Balanced Muscle Development: Reformer pilates targets underused muscles, addressing muscular imbalances and reducing the risk of injury by promoting uniform strength.

  • Low Impact, Joint Friendly: Athletes are able to increase strength and endurance without the impact traditional strength and conditioning has on their joints.

  • Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention: I often use these methods in athlete in physical therapy because of its ability to safely strengthen muscles and restore mobility after injury. It’s excellent for recovery and helps prevention future injuries through improved alignment and muscle balance.

  • Body Awareness and Control: Athletes often report improved body awareness as this encourages them to focus on precise, controlled movements. This heightened awareness improves coordination, agility, and balance.

  • Posture and Alignment: Leading to more efficient movement and reduces strain on the body.

Athletes who incorporate a combination of specified breathing techniques, hybrid style reformer and mat Pilates into their programming benefit from a well-rounded program that enhances strength, flexibility, endurance, and mental focus. Together they improve functional movement patterns, injury resilience and performance.
